WEBQUESTS & TREASURE HUNTS

In this section you find a series of WebQuest and Treasure Hunt activities.

A webquest is a type of learning activity which is guided research, with resources primarily from the Internet, which promotes the use of higher cognitive abilities, cooperative work and the students' autonomy and includes an authentic assessment. In every webquest you are going to find the following structure: introduction, task, process, resources, evaluation, conclusion and authors. A webquest can be of two types: short-duration (lasting from one to three sessions) and long-duration (which is more extensive and can last from one week to one month of class.)

A treasure hunt or scavenger hunt is a minor activity in relation to the webquest. In this activity, students should not carry out a very complex task, you only need to find answers to questions given in the content of links previously selected by the teacher. Sometimes it includes a global question that requires the student to make a more elaborate use of information, this is called "the big question."

Here is a list of webquests and treasure hunts categorized by levels. You will be assigned the work in class, where you must present and expose it to the rest of the students.

Below are some projects that you can do to review some basic vocabulary. Very soon I shall include more upper-levelled projects so you have a good deal of practice with this fascinating program.

To view these projects you must have JClic Player installed in your computer. If you cannot see the project on your computer, you need the JClic Player application. Download it from here and install it in your PC. Enjoy!
